When a Politician says one thing and does quite the opposite, or promises a change within a specific time limit and then does not deliver it makes one question their integrity.  This is why the ever increasing u-turns and signs of dithering are beginning to lead to questions on the character, fiber and honesty of President Koroma.

Pope Benedict XVI reminded international leaders gathered in Rome this week for a United Nations-sponsored food summit that hunger and malnutrition were "unacceptable" in a world equipped with plentiful resources and technical know-how.

President Koroma meets Archbishop-designate Charles

The ordination of the Archbishop-designate of the archdiocese of Freetown and Bo, Edward Tamba Charles will take place on the 14th of May 2008, at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown.  The 52-year-old was appointed on the 16th of March this year following the retirement in March 2007 of Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Ganda, who had been in post since 1980.

Any hope that African leaders would solve the political quagmire in Zimbabwe was dashed with the announcement by President, Thabo Mbeki that the country is not in crisis.  As far as dishonesty goes, it is the lowest a powerful African neighbour such as South Africa can go, which is why the people of Zimbabwe should look inwards rather than outwards for a solution to their problem.

Following the resignation in early 2007 of the Archbishop of the diocese of Freetown and Bo, Joseph Ganda the first Sierra Leonean priest, Edward Tamba Charles is now the new Archbishop designate. Fr. Charles as he is commonly known was born on the 18th of April 1956 in Kainkordu, Soa Chiefdom, Kono District.
